To help you plan the perfect trip, I've put together my ideal 5-day itinerary. This is how I would guide my closest friends—a perfect blend of iconic sights, world-class flavors, and breathtaking nature.

Day 1: Arrival & The Heart of the City

After arriving at Santiago's airport (SCL) and settling into your accommodations, your adventure begins. The best way to orient yourself is to dive into the city's historic and cultural heart. I always recommend our Heart of Santiago: A Queer History Tour for the first day. It's more than a simple tour; we wander through the Plaza de Armas, see the La Moneda Presidential Palace, and explore the bohemian-chic neighborhoods of Lastarria and Bellas Artes, all while I share the stories of my country's journey toward equality.

A Note on Santiago's Nightlife

You can't talk about Santiago without mentioning its incredible nightlife! The city truly comes alive after dark, especially in the Bellavista neighborhood, the heart of our LGBT+ scene. However, the best nights to go out are typically Thursday through Saturday . Because your travel days might not line up perfectly, I haven't assigned our nightlife tour to a specific day in this itinerary.

Instead, the best way to experience the city's best gay bars and clubs safely and like a true local is on our Santiago's Gay Nightlife tour . We'll show you our favorite spots, handle all the logistics, and make sure you have an amazing, hassle-free night out. We can easily swap one of the evening activities or adjust the itinerary to fit this unforgettable experience in.

Day 2: Coastal Charm & Color

Today, we're heading to the coast for a full day of art and sea breeze. The best way to do this is on our Valparaiso City tour , as we handle all the driving and logistics.

You will fall in love with the chaotic, colorful hills of Valparaiso, a UNESCO World Heritage city. We'll get lost in its maze of street art, ride the historic funicular elevators, and soak in the unique atmosphere that has inspired artists and poets for decades. After two busy days, today we slow down the pace and indulge our senses. We'll head just outside the city to one of Chile's most prestigious wine regions.

My personal favorite spots for exploring the city I now call home.

When I first moved to Santiago from the U.S., before Pride Tours even existed, my favorite thing to do was get intentionally lost. I would pick a neighborhood and just walk for hours, discovering the cafés, parks, and hidden corners that make this city so special. It’s how I fell in love with my adopted home.

One of the most common questions I get from our guests is, 'What should we do on our day off?' While our tours tell the big stories, sometimes the best memories are made just by wandering.

So, this isn't a list of every tourist attraction. This is my personal list—the places I still go to relax, explore, and feel the city's amazing energy. I hope you love them as much as I do.

One of the things that surprised me most about Santiago is how easy it is to escape the urban hustle and find a beautiful green space. When I need to unwind, these are my three go-to parks, each with its own unique personality.

Parque Araucano

Why I Love It: When I want to see the city in action, I head here. This massive park in the Las Condes neighborhood is always buzzing with energy. It's a hub of activity with sports courts, skate parks, and frequent weekend markets ( ferias ). My favorite part is the beautiful rose garden (the Rosaleda ) which is a calmer spot within the park.

My Insider Tip: This park is located directly across from the Parque Arauco mall, one of the best shopping centers in the city. I love to combine the two—a bit of shopping followed by a relaxing walk among the roses to unwind. It's a great way to see how the locals really live and play.

For Trans & GNC Travelers: While the laws are advanced, public awareness is still catching up, just like in many parts of the world. In the cities, you’ll find a higher level of understanding. Santiago de Chile stands out not just for its stunning landscapes but also for its open-minded and accepting community that adds an extra layer of warmth to the travel experience for LGBTQ+ visitors.

Santiago has a vibrant LGBTQ+ scene for visitors to experience, especially the Bohemian Bellavista, Bellas Artes and Lastarria neighborhoods. There, people will be able to wet their whistles with delicious local drinks, world-class Chilean wines, and immerse their palates with tantalizing cuisine. For those looking to live it up at night, Bellavista offers a great variety of bars, discos and unforgettable drag shows. Wine lovers can experience some of the best wines by visiting beautiful vineyards in nearby wine valleys. Cajón del Maipo is a canyon deep in the Andes where people can be mesmerized by its flora and fauna, as well as its amazing views of these young mountains. Along the way you might even see some glaciers on the mountain tops.

Here's a suggested itinerary for a 4-day visit:

DAY 1: Arrival

Arrival day is a good day to start at a slow pace, and get to know the city and its surroundings.

Walking Santiago From Up High

We’ll visit historical downtown and unveil the history of the city and the LGBTQ+ evolution in this amazing country. We’ll enjoy the views from the top of San Crisobal Hill and Costanera Center (the tallest building in Latin America). Includes guide and entrances.

DAY 2: A day in Valparaiso

Valparaiso City Tour

Valparaiso is located approximately 100 km from Santiago and is considered a World Heritage Site. While there we’ll take a leisurely stroll around the hills while enjoying unique architecture of the local homes, while learning about it’s history. It’s filled with color and beautiful street art. Before we continue on, we will stop off for lunch and enjoy local surf & turf, as well as tasty vegetarian options. From there we can continue on to the Dunes of Concon and from the top (approximately a 20 story climb), we’ll have a privileged view of the nearby coastal cities. This is a full-day activity that has a duration of 7 to 8 hours.

Gay Nightlife

Santiago is shaking things up with vibrant new bars, clubs, pubs and neighborhoods. Without a doubt a nightlife scene that’s steadily erasing its reputation as a less-than-glamorous stopover city. We’re gonna take you through lights, music and Santiago’s dynamic nightlife! We start at around 9:00 pm by wetting our lips at the first bar. We’ll share a nice conversation and a first glimpse of the local scene and customs. We will then continue to a very sexy Drag Queen’s show where you’ll see the best local talent doing "their thing". Afterwards, we'll point you in the direction of the best parties of the night in case you want to shake that booty at some of the city’s best discos. We can also include a dinner in a nice restaurant in the Bellavista District. Duration 4 to 5 hours.

DAY 3: A day at the Vineyards

Wine Valleys

Chile is famous for its world-class wines and we are fortunate to have 2 of Chile’s well-known valleys near Santiago. We will visit 2 boutique-style vineyards and enjoy personalized wine experiences, while learning about an old-style wine making that few wineries use today. This is obviously followed by generous wine tastings. The Maipo valley is one of Chile’s oldest red wine valleys and offers an incredible variety of red wines. The Casablanca valley is a young valley, but also the largest white wine valley in Chile. They produce an amazing variety of whites and light reds, such as Pino Noir and Syrah. Each valley is an all-day activity.

Day 4: Departure

If you're heading home, we can take you to Santiago's Airport. However, if you're not quite ready to leave, we invite you to explore more of our exciting activities and experiences. Whether you're looking for more adventures or just want to relax, we've got plenty of options to keep the fun going.
